What Are User Stories?

TL;DR: A user story defines a feature from the end-user's perspective (e.g., "As a user, I want to reset my password"). They are essential for product planning, but they are not technical specs. If you feed user stories directly to a coding agent, the agent will invent the architecture to make them happen.

User stories are the core of a traditional PRD (Product Requirements Document). They explain the what and the why of a feature.

However, AI coding agents don't need to know why a user wants to reset their password. They need to know how to build it. They need to know which database table holds the reset token, how long the token lives, and what the API payload looks like.

If you just give an agent a user story, it will guess the implementation details. To build successfully with AI, you must translate your user stories into an Architecture Design Document before you start generating code.

Zalcro translates your product vision into an Architecture Design Document, converting the what and why of your user stories into the explicit schema, boundaries, and API logic an AI agent needs to build from.
