Before you start your next Lovable project, do this

You have an idea. You open Lovable, describe what you want to build, and within an hour you have something that looks a lot like the idea in your head.

But there's a pattern that shows up in almost every Lovable project, usually around the point where the exciting part ends and the real building starts. The UI is there. The main screens exist. You can click through and it feels like a product. And then you try to make two parts of it talk to each other, and something breaks. You fix it, something else breaks. You spend a day prompting your way through bugs that keep multiplying. The fixes start creating new problems.

It feels like a Lovable problem, but it's not. Lovable did exactly what you asked. The issue is that what you asked didn't fully account for how the pieces would need to connect.

What does the first version actually do? Who are the users and what information do they create when they use it? What are the main screens and which ones need to share data? What happens when something goes wrong? When a payment fails or a user hits a page they shouldn't see?

That last one catches people out more than anything. Error states feel like edge cases, but they're not. They're flows that need to exist, and if you don't plan them, your tool doesn't know to build them.
